Cherries Jubilee Crisp

Preparation

INGREDIENTS:

6 cups frozen red cherries, thawed
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons brandy
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ginger, ground
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons light butter, cut into bits, chilled
4 cups fat free frozen vanilla yogurt

 

DIRECTIONS:

Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl.  Combine the next 6 ingredients in a second bowl.  Work in the butter by riffling the bits and the flour mixture together lightly between your thumbs and fingers.Put the filling into an 8" square baking dish, dot with topping, and then bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

Serve hot with a dollop of frozen yogurt.
