What’s the best way to get to the resort from the Airport?
Transportation options to/from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport:
Luxury Vehicle Service
Guests will be greeted at baggage claim by the driver and escorted to the car. Charges are $79.00 plus gratuity per trip for up to 3 people in a luxury vehicle. Limousines are available for an additional charge. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. Reservations are required. Taxi cab services are located on the ground floor, exit baggage claim. Major credit cards and cash are accepted.
SuperShuttle is a multi-party transportation service. The shuttle may stop for other riders prior to arriving at Lake Austin Spa Resort, so the trip may take up to two hours. SuperShuttle is located on the ground floor, exit baggage claim area #1. The shuttles are blue vans with yellow writing. Rates start at $45. SuperShuttle accepts all major credit cards. Rental cars are available at the airport. All major rental companies are represented. You may contact them directly or through your travel agent.

What should I bring?
- Workout Clothing and Shoes. We offer a variety of movement options throughout the day, so you will need comfortable clothes and shoes. Include a pair of hiking boots if you plan on enjoying some of our scenic hikes (helpful but not necessary)
- Bathing Suit and Cover Up. Our three swimming pools are great for swimming laps, aerobic workouts and relaxing
- Hat and Sunscreen
- A Good Book. Current magazines and daily newspapers are available, but you might want to bring your selection of leisure reading
What should I leave at home?
Lake Austin Spa Resort is well known for its casual, relaxed atmosphere. This eliminates the need for items you might otherwise feel you need such as dress clothes or jewelry.
Each room is supplied with complimentary amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soap, bath salts and lotion. A hair dryer, alarm clock, umbrella and robe are also in your room for your convenience. Plus size robes are available upon request. Lake Austin Spa Resort provides complimentary spa sandals for your comfort during your visit, and they are yours to take home at the end of your stay.
Complimentary laundry facilities are available for your convenience.
What are the check-in and checkout times?
Check-in time is 4 p.m. CT. Your room will be ready for you by 4 p.m. If you would like to arrive after lunch and begin participating in activities, you are welcome to do so. We will store your bags at the Guest Services desk while you enjoy the activities. Shower and bathroom facilities are available in the LakeHouse Spa until your room is ready.
Check-out time is noon CT. We invite you to enjoy lunch prior to your departure. We will store your bags at Guest Services or assist you in loading them in your car prior to lunch. Box lunches are available with a 12-hour notice if you are unable to join us in the dining room. Please return room keys to Guest Services no later than noon. There is no refund for early departure.
What if I have to cancel my overnight reservation or my spa appointment?
Overnight Reservations - A $500 prepayment per person is required at time of booking to guarantee your reservation. If you cancel 30 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival, your entire prepayment will be refunded. Prepayments for reservations cancelled 15-29 days prior to arrival will be held for one year for a future stay. If cancellation is made 0-14 days prior to arrival, your entire prepayment will be forfeited. No refunds will be made for early departure, and gift certificates are non-refundable. Changes to arrival and departure dates are considered cancellations and are subject to above policy.
What is the cuisine like?
We hope you will find the food at Lake Austin Spa Resort one of your most pleasant surprises. Seasonal menus offer three fresh, flavorful meals daily that blend global inspiration with local resources. Calorie and fat information is provided on all dishes.
Breakfast Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Lunch Hours: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Dinner Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Hors d'oeuvres are served in the living room each afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Room Service, snacks and beverages are available throughout the day.

Are children allowed at the spa?
Guests of Lake Austin Spa Resort must be 14 years of age or older. Guests 18 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Are laundry facilities available?
A 24-hour complimentary laundry room is located adjacent to Room 27. Detergent is provided. If you prefer, housekeeping will launder your clothing. Please call Guest Services for assistance.
How do I pay for my visit?
Payment is due at check-in and all incidentals are due at check-out. All purchases and services at Lake Austin Spa Resort can be charged directly to your room. Additional purchases such as boutique merchandise, additional spa services, personal instruction sessions, spa products and telephone calls will be itemized for your review upon check-out. Questions concerning charges should be discussed with Guest Services before departure. We honor Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club credit cards. Personal checks and cash are also accepted in U.S. dollars.
What should I know about Service Charges?
All overnight packages with a Spa and Fitness Allowance include a 20% Service Charge. A 20% Service Charge will be added to all a la carte personal services. Service Charge covers many aspects of your stay including gratuities for personal services. All Service Charges may be charged to your room account.

What is the smoking policy?
In the interest of health and well-being, Lake Austin Spa Resort is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is prohibited inside all interior public spaces on the property, including all buildings, guest rooms and in or around the pool area. Smoking is permitted in outdoor, non-public areas only. Any evidence of smoking in guest accommodations will result in a $1,000 fee to deodorize the Lady Bird Suite and a $500 fee for all other guest room types.
Is alcohol provided at Lake Austin Spa Resort?
Lake Austin Spa Resort serves fine wines and assorted beer. Our culinary team has selected a variety of wines and beer that will create an added dimension to our award-winning spa cuisine. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages into our dining facilities or public areas. However, you may bring alcohol for consumption in your guest rooms. Alcohol is not permitted in the LakeHouse Spa.
Can I bring my pet?
Your four-legged friends are welcome. A $300 pet guest fee and reservations in Garden Cottage Accommodations are required. Please contact our Reservations Department at (800) 847-5637 for more information prior to arrival.
Is Lake Austin Spa Resort handicap accessible?
Lake Austin Spa Resort is situated in the Texas Hill Country. The property is a non-contiguous, multi-level design with stairs, ramps and low-grade inclines in select areas. If you have special mobility requirements, please contact us in advance of your stay so that we may address your needs to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Are there computers for guests to use?
A public computer is located in the boutique and is available for guest use. In addition, all rooms are equipped with wireless Internet connections.
Can I bring my cell phone?
In order to maintain a relaxing environment for all of our guests, please restrict cell phone use to the privacy of a guest room.

What should I know about Service Charges?
A Service Charge of 20% is included in all Day Spa Packages. A 20% Service Charge will be added to all a la carte personal services. Service Charge covers many aspects of your stay including gratuities for personal services.
What if I have to cancel my spa appointment?
Spa Appointments - A 24-hour cancellation or change notice for spa service appointments is required to avoid a charge equivalent to 100% of the treatment price. A 12-hour cancellation or change notice applies for overnight guests. Prices and services are subject to change without notice.
How much time should I allow to get to the LakeHouse Spa?
Please allow at least 45 minutes to get to the LakeHouse Spa from most places in central Austin. Plan to arrive at the LakeHouse Spa no later than 30 minutes prior to your first treatment time. If you wish to enjoy the showers, steam room, sauna or hot tub prior to your spa experience, please be sure to leave adequate time so that you aren't rushed. Each appointment is precisely timed so if you arrive late, your spa service time may be shortened. In the event that you are late to an appointment, we will do our best to accommodate you but we cannot guarantee your full service time.
What should I wear to the spa and bring with me?
The LakeHouse Spa is a casual environment – we recommend dressing in casual, comfortable clothing. We provide bathrobes and sandals upon check-in. Public pools require bathing suits. Private men's and women's locker areas are clothing optional. Please dress to your comfort level – undergarments under bathrobes are optional.
All jewelry and other personal belongings should be removed prior to spa services, but it is preferred that they be left at home. Lockers are provided to secure your personal belongings; however Lake Austin Spa Resort is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
The bathrobes and sandals we provide are intended to be worn to your treatment(s). Your therapist will provide further instruction on disrobing based on the treatment type.
Are cell phones allowed in the LakeHouse Spa?
Out of respect of all guests, we kindly ask that cell phones be turned off upon entering the spa.
How can I change or cancel my spa appointment?
We require a 24 hour notice for any cancellations or appointment changes. To change or cancel your appointment(s), call a Spa Reservations Specialist at (512) 372-7380. All appointments are subject to our Cancellation Policy and gift certificate expiration dates are enforced.
I have a day spa package gift certificate; can I split it into 2 days?
Package gift certificates to the LakeHouse Spa may only be redeemed once by the original recipient and they must be redeemed on one visit. Package gift certificates may not be split into multiple visits and services/treatments may not be transferred to another person. Package gift certificates may not be redeemed for cash.
Gift certificates for dollar amounts may be used over multiple visits.
Is it possible to request a male or female service provider?
To make your spa visit more comfortable, the LakeHouse Spa will fulfill a therapist gender request whenever possible. If you do have a male or female preference, we suggest that the request be made at the time of booking your spa reservation. You may always contact a Spa Reservations Specialist at (512) 372-7380 to specify your therapist preference.
What should I discuss with my therapist before a treatment?
When you arrive at the LakeHouse Spa, before any treatments, you will be asked to complete a Health Profile. This is a standard form and is designed to get an understanding of any medical conditions, injuries, skin conditions, mobility limitations, etc. that might need to be taken into consideration for a treatment. Complete and thorough responses are appreciated, as this allows us to provide you with the best level of service to meet your needs.
Please be sure to inform your therapist of any inflamed joints or muscles. These should be avoided during massage. Also, please inform your therapist of any discomfort or concerns during a treatment.
We recommend that you receive only one heat treatment per day. Pregnant women and individuals with heart conditions or varicose veins should avoid all heat treatments and limit use of the steam room, sauna and hot tub. Following any of our heat treatments, it is important that you rest and avoid rigorous activity for at least one hour.
What should I know about the steam room, sauna and whirlpool?
The LakeHouse Spa offers separate locker rooms for men and women, each with a whirlpool, sauna, steam room, toilets and showers. Spending time in any of these wet areas is great for relaxing before or after a treatment.
Can I wear make-up after a facial?
Wearing make-up after a facial shouldn't cause any problems, but always consult with your esthetician about any post-facial precautions.
Is it okay to go in the sun after a facial?
Always consult with your esthetician after a facial treatment about any post-facial precautions: The skin is delicate after extractions and exfoliation and it is wise to limit sun exposure for at least a few hours after a facial.
Should I shave before a salt scrub?
Shaving exposes new skin and can leave the skin feeling sensitive. The salt used in a salt scrub, although gentle, may cause skin irritation so it is recommended that you refrain from shaving within 24 hours of a salt scrub treatment.
Can I enjoy the steam room prior to a waxing service?
It is recommended that you enjoy the steam room after waxing services. The steam room opens skin pores, which may cause sensitivity or irritation to waxing.
Is it really important to drink a lot of water after a treatment?
Yes, it is important to stay well-hydrated before and especially after a spa treatment. Most treatments trigger improved circulation and stimulate waste removal from the body. Water can aid in this process and will help alleviate any inflammation, especially after massage therapies. Water will also help restore your energy after spa treatments.
