Sharon Rekieta, PhD
Certified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer for 30+ years
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialty emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology
Sharon’s signature aqua sessions are Deep Water Training and Floating Relaxation/Meditation.
Deep Water Training is an energizing conditioning and cardio workout that simulates athletic movements such as jogging, jumping over hurdles and cross-country skiing—all performed while wearing a jogging belt that suspends you in the deep water. The format is similar to programs designed for our Olympic athletes to keep them performance ready while preventing overtraining.
In the Floating Relaxation/Meditation class, participants float comfortably on supportive mats that allow the body to let go and feel the water’s gentle rocking rhythms. Music plays throughout the grand Pool Barn as the carefully selected lyrics engage the heart and stir the consciousness. The body is completely at rest and thoughts become still which allows for a deep meditative journey in an experience that has been described as “magical”.
