Intuition, supported by science, tells us that our connections to nature make us both happier and healthier. Join our resident naturalist and local historian, Ann Miller, on a short lake cruise to historic Common Ford Ranch Metro Park where the endangered Golden-Cheeked Warbler can be heard (and sometimes seen) nesting in the pristine juniper-oak woodland of this birding preserve. Ann will guide you through the preserve, looking, listening, and connecting to nature and the birds inhabiting the area.
We will use binoculars and cell phone apps along with our senses to connect more deeply with nature on today's outing. (Binoculars provided; please bring cell phone and if possible, preload the Merlin app for bird identification. Our guide will assist in teaching you to then utilize the app for nature outings on your own).
Whether you are a novice nature lover or an accomplished birder, we will learn from each other, share our joyful discoveries, and deepen our sense of well-being and wonder.
